College courses for future accountants in Sheffield

Have you just left school and considered accountancy as a long term career option? Do you wish to keep in touch with the latest accountancy methods? For many people, the best place to start is at your local college. Our city is noted for its fine further and higher education institutions. Sheffield College is one of the UK’s largest Further Education colleges. Plus you have the University of Sheffield, and Sheffield Hallam University – both internationally renowned universities – not only for wannabe accountants in Sheffield but also the creative industries.
The City and Guilds Level 1 qualification is ideal for anyone who has learned bookkeeping, if you wish to become an accountant in Sheffield or further afield. Entry requirements include a Level 1 in Bookkeeping and a Level 1 in Literacy and Numeracy.
The Association of Accounting Technicians’ Level 2 is a first step towards professional accounting qualifications. Entry requirements include the successful completion of a Level 1 qualification or A* to C grade GCSE grades in English and Mathematics. One for budding accountants as well as anyone changing their career.
Wannabe accountants may consider this course as a step towards Higher Education qualifications. If you have already taken the Level 2 qualification or an ‘A’ level in Accounting, this course covers Advanced Bookkeeping, Final Accounts Preparation, and Indirect Tax.
Normal course fees apply. Your college may offer payment plans. Expect to pay up to £80 for textbooks related to your course. For the AAT courses, membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians is required.
